February 2025 – Becketwell Arena has been completed as part of the redevelopment masterplan of Derby city centre!

The £45.8m, 3500-capacity performance venue has been constructed by Bowmer & Kirkland, and as part of the project CareSpaces was contracted to deliver a Changing Places toilet.

Located on the ground floor right off the main concourse area, the Changing Places toilet features a GoLift ceiling hoist mounted to an XY track system, a VISIT changing trolley and a PLUS basin bracket, along with a wall-fixed privacy screen, grab rails and accessories as required by BS8300

The initial plan as designed by Corstorphine & Wright was developed by CareSpaces to provide the necessary service point locations for the contractors to work to. Our installation team installed the equipment over two days, and returned to site once services had been turned on to carry out the final commissioning and testing.

We have been to site to provide training for the venue team, and look forward to getting this facility registered on the national map!

The GoLift XY track system is installed using our slimline wall post system, and is designed to transport users across the whole room.

A VISIT mobile trolley is provided which allows maximum flexibility of positioning within the room, and allows carers to access the trolley from both sides.
